I have been heavily involved in the art culture of Ipswich for over 12 years and presently hold the position of President of ArtsConnect Ipswich Inc, (previously known as Ipswich Arts Council). As President I get to promote art and culture within the Ipswich region as well as assist artists and community groups in exhibiting work, workshops, raising funds for charities and creating a better livable community through art. I have achieved several awards from Ipswich City Council including the Cultural Award for 2018, Community Event of the Year 2019 and 2021, two Ipswich City medallions and recently awarded the 2021 Ipswich Citizen of the Year.
In my art career I have received many awards and accolades. I was a finalist in the Moreton Bay Art Awards and Gold Coast Morris Art Awards. In 2017 won the painting section at the Ipswich Art Awards, I have also won several firsts at the Boonah Art Festival, Lockyer Valley Art Awards, Black Snake Festival and won Champion Artwork at the 2020 Ipswich Hospice Art Awards. I have been in many group exhibitions in Brisbane, Ipswich and the Scenic Rim. I have had several solo exhibitions with the most recent at the Ipswich Art Gallery in 2021.
